The use of dirt is an important aspect when making strong amulets or as part of a magical spell. Dirt is used in a variety of different ways such as inside of consecrated Eleggua’s, Ozains and other amulets. Both Santeros (Priest of Santeria) and Paleros (Priest of Palo Mayombe) believe that dirt has a magical quality. The following is a list of some of the important and powerful dirts used by participants of the Santeria religion.

DIRT FROM FOUR STREET CORNERS – This dirt is used to open up the roads of success.

DIRT FROM THE MOUNTAINS – This dirt is used in cleansing spells and commmunication with the spirits which reside specifically in a mountain region.

DIRT FROM THE FOREST – This dirt is used in spells of protection.

DIRT FROM FOUR JAILS – This dirt is used to release an individual from jail or to keep them in.

DIRT FROM FOUR POLICE STATIONS – This dirt is used to bring the police to an individuals home or business.

DIRT FROM FOUR BANKS – This dirt is used in prosperity spells.

DIRT FROM AN INDIAN CEMETERY – This dirt is used in spells of protection.
